The designs below are where I start. Each is made to order — your height, your shelf count, your wood — and built by hand to last a lifetime of rooms.
Workshop
Shelves that run straight through the uprights and lock with a pair of wedged tusk tenons on the outside — the wedge does the work in plain sight. Pull the wedges and the whole case becomes a flat stack of boards to carry through any door. Shown in walnut; built to your height and shelf count.

Canvas
A standing bookcase with one side given over to carving — here, sunflowers worked and painted by hand up the full height of the panel. The shelves stay open and honest; the side becomes a canvas. Carved to order, so the subject, the wood, and the wall are yours.
